Someya playfully explores the fine line between love and lust in her latest single «Hung Up Over You».

A dreamy, ambient contrast in comparison to the winter release of her angsty single and video «Always Here», «Hung Up Over You» offers a taste of the prolific songwriter’s genre-bending sophomore EP, coming summer 2020.

The gloomy-day bop also acts a celebration of the San Jose songstress’s bisexuality. Forever a friend and supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, Someya features her first on-screen female love interest in the «Hung Up Over You» music video.

«I needed this video to show the genuine aspects of a female-female relationship», Someya reveals, «Not only because it’s true to the story behind «Hung Up Over You», but also because as an artist and a bisexual woman, I think it’s extremely important for me to use my voice to represent this type of relationship openly, without sexualising it. The display is meant to showcase the real love and heartache within a relationship between two women; I’m not try to pander to the idea of what people think a gay or lesbian relationship is supposed to look like, I’m telling it like it is in real life».

Teaming up with Ed Clare and Georgann Ireland of Nova Noir ProductionsSomeya‘s «Hung Up Over You» achieved new levels of sonic excellence alongside Grammy winning engineer Reto Peter, who is best known for his work on Green Day’s masterpiece American Idiot.

Featuring LA-based actress and model Austyn Vovos, the “Hung Up Over You” music video was filmed and directed by ZANE Productions.

Available on all platforms now, «Hung Up Over You» serves as the second single off of Someya‘s next EP.
