Jakk Fynn

Jakk Fynn recognised the lack of transmasculine representation in pop music, and has presented an ode to the daily struggles of folks in the community.

Jakk Fynn isn’t going to be boxed in — and if he has anything to do with it, his listeners won’t be, either.

The singer-songwriter has given himself the freedom to explore musical soundscapes, melding his roots with his adult endeavours and always embracing the natural state of flux that comes with being an artist in the internet age. Even in his youth, Jakk soaked it all in, whether it was from legacy artists like Nirvana and the Beach Boys or acts more representative of the moment like Backstreet Boys and NSync.

«As a trans man, I’ve spent most of my life feeling trapped by circumstance which has contributed to a lot of mental health issues. So much so, I’ve formed a close relationship to the thought of death. Meow lightly touches on these daily struggles, while simultaneously reminding myself to stay in the present in light of the impermanence of everything. Even though my struggles are rooted in my queer experience, I wanted to write a song that was still relatable for anyone struggling with anxiety, depression, or hopelessness in hopes that they’ll feel a little more seen, validated and less alone».

Get a boyband feeling and that is not bad ! Like his voice, it’s smooth and «Meow» are great pop tune that should certainly get lots of radio play and plays by you !

«Meow» will be released on 20 May 2022 on all major streaming platforms. You can pre-safe it here.
