Zoe Hines first single of 2023

After releasing «Never Fall in Love» in December and «Camera Shy» (Indigo Plateaux & Dillon Lucas Remix) in January, Brooklyn-based musician Zoe Hines debuts «tooth gems», her first song of 2023.

The XAV-produced song «tooth gems» explores the beginning emotions of a relationship and the intrigue of what it might develop into.

«The beginning of liking someone is always a rollercoaster of emotions», Zoe says of the track. «In the moment, everything about that person makes you light up. Nothing feels better than having someone that makes you feel that way. It then becomes a constant wonder on whether or not it will work out or if it’s just something temporary».

In conjunction with the release, Lanre Danmola (Kevin Gates, HBK Dinero, and Huey Brisss) shot a music video for the song, which Zoe shares. Her experiences at the festival are recapped in the video, which also includes happy moments from appearances by Kaytranada, Metro Boomin’, Blackpink, and other artists.

Early on, Zoe Hines developed a musical obsession because her father’s speakers’ bass used to shake the house’s walls. The Brooklyn-based, New Jersey-raised artist started experimenting with her own soundcraft using the music she heard as a child as well as influences from artists like Mac Miller, The Internet, SYD, Omar Apollo, Frank Ocean, and Orion Sun. She then began to create timeless stories for listeners looking for answers in the deepest part of their psyche.
