Robert O’Connor just about to dropped his new single «Mysterious Times»!

Robert O'Connor is set to drop his initial single of 2024, the fittingly named «Mysterious Times», on 29 March 2024.

Originally released in 1999 by German producer/DJ Sash! featuring Tina Cousins on vocals, Robert’s reinterpretation, helmed by Gareth Shortland (known for work with Sophie Ellis Bextor and Steps), offers a stripped-down perspective, emphasising the poignant lyrics that resonate profoundly in today’s world.

On his decision to record «Mysterious Times», Robert says: «When I recorded my last EP, Sash!
was a reference I found myself mentioning frequently, and this song has always been a favourite
of mine. When I heard it out of the blue on the radio one day I took it as a sign».

Robert O’Connor is presently working on the sequel to his 2022 EP «Severance». The EP garnered over 150,000 Spotify streams, yielded five LGBTQ Music Chart Top 3 hits, and garnered praise from outlets such as Retro Pop, which described the record as demonstrating Robert’s exceptional songwriting skills and his discovery of his unique sound.

Scheduled for release in 2024, Robert O’Connor teases fans with a promise of a «pop pic’n’mix», stating: «I brought numerous references to the table, causing my producer’s mind to almost explode! One moment it was ’80s German electropop, the next it was ’00s Ibiza chillout».

The Dublin artist has released 18 singles and three EPs so far, but the upcoming record, still untitled, will mark only his second album. His debut album «Distance» from 2008 stands as the sole LP in his collection. Currently, «Mysterious Times» offers a captivating glimpse into Robert’s comeback to the album format.
