The Liverpool crowd shouted «Cha Cha Cha», the chorus of the Finnish song, in protest when the result was announced. These cries could be clearly heard on the TV broadcast.

This vote result is a bit awkward, given Finland won the public vote and was so much the clear favourite in the arena that the audience was chanting it the whole time. The EBU was already considering getting rid of the juries in next year’s final. This will add fuel to that.

The booing was stoped by EBU anti-booing measures it seems to be have been used during the Eurovision Grand Final held last Saturday in Liverpool, this is not at this time confirmed. There are several reports that there was booing during the delivery of jury points.
